Maxima compounding instructions include the use of a wetting agent to be added to powdered drugs prior to mixing into Diffusimax. Since most of the medications in these formulations are better solubilized with ethoxy diglycol*, it is the recommended wetting agent for most preparations. Alternative wetting agents (such as propylene glycol and isopropyl alcohol) can be used for certain formulations. *also referred to as diethylene glycol monoethyl ether and 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethanol [CAS #111-90-0]
